St. Alex's Church
If you are an "art enthusiast" and cherish the beautiful pairing of western and eastern architecture, then St Alex's Church is your bias. Its stunning construction is one of the primary reasons why most tourists have this name on their bucket list when visiting places near Calangute Beach. Founded by Franciscans and built in the last sixteenth century, this Church is even older than the Fort Aguada. The Church has seven beautiful altars, two towers, and a magnificent dome.
The main altar is devoted to St. Alex himself and thus the name of the Church. As you go inside the place, two things cannot escape your eyes. First is the magnificent statue of St Anthony with a Bible in his hand and second is the beautiful installation of St Francis as a child.
