Nahargarh Fort, meaning "Abode of Tigers," was built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II as a retreat for the royal family. Unlike the more famous Amber Fort, Nahargarh was primarily constructed as a defensive outpost and a watchtower to protect Jaipur from invaders. Over the centuries, the fort has witnessed numerous battles and has been meticulously restored to preserve its grandeur.
The fort showcases Rajput and Mughal architectural styles, with massive walls, intricate carvings, and grand courtyards. Inside, you'll find beautiful palaces, temples, and museums that narrate the fort's historical significance. The Kala Niketan Palace within the fort premises is now a luxury hotel, allowing visitors to experience royal hospitality.
